Faith Lutheran School, Queensland
"Students will be kicking goals on new playing field surface".
Outcome
"Very happy with results on newly laid turf"
Background
School contracted Golden Finch Turf at Coominya to supply and lay approx. 1 Ha of turf on their playing surfaces.
This project was viewed as major expenditure and a critical component of the 2010 school development.
OBJECTIVES • To reduce any die back of new turf and promote healthy grass • For new turf to take root very quickly • To have oval ready for return to School in Early February 2010 • To result in softer ground and lush grass for sports to take place with minimal injuries.
What we recommended
# Soil Reviva - apply 1 tonne to oval via a trailer and tractor
# Profert and Xtend - spray straight after turf laid then every 7-10 days for 3 applications at the rate of 10 litres and 1 litre of Xtend in 1000 litres of water. Profert and Xtend applied to turf as a drench as the weather was extremely hot (30 degree plus days).
# Water was supplied from the school dam and was applied via their new sprinkler system
Results achieved
The oval was laid in 2 sections some 3 weeks apart - after close inspection the 1st section has rooted very well.
Grass is growing strongly with consistent colour and no browning off.

Our Solution
1. Apply Soil Reviva to soil prior to laying turf
2. Spray turf with a combination of Profert and Xtend after laying
